SKT capex strategy questioned
24-January-2003

Analysts are expressing caution about the ability of South Korean operator SK Telecom's management, following an about-turn by the firm over its capex figure today. Just two days ago SKT announced that it would increase capex by 27% over 2002 to Won2.49 trillion (US$2.14 billion). Instead the firm's management has decided to keep the figure flat with 2002 and is said to be looking at other ways of spending the cash, with some due to be spent on a stock buy-back.
