I just figure, that, if they violate their pact with God, they also must lose their mysterious powers. Hence anyone who had last rites, didn't really get them "legally", and their souls went directly to Hell. The same thing for those who received invalid baptisms, or received invalid communions, or invalid forgiveness after confession. There are going to be a lot of empty hotel rooms in Heaven.
