Great point from Lee on Marketswing.

One thing that is bugging me shorter term on the COTs and Hahn crash call.
EVERYONE is looking for a bounce here. COTs are less short
than they have been in a long time. I have hung around Donald so long that I now share
his view that the low odds of calling a crash in
advance are so low that it doesn't merit paying attention to it but.......

I also recall that Heinz Blasnik, one of the smartest people on the market that I have ever
known, one time said, "crashes happen when
no one is short because there is no one to put a floor under the market. You NEED
shorts to have buyers since they are the only ones
willing to step up and buy ina falling market. It is them covering that slows the decline
and then lets long buyers get the nerve to step
up."

With only a few COT shorts remaining, who is going to buy if things do get fugly? Again,
the odds are so low, that I doubt anything
happens but the rug under us is old and weak and seems to be scooting about a little bit.
