The Prime Minister and his party go to great lengths to marginalize him because he's fear-mongering, and they want to do business with Germany (after all, it's the Great Depression) and they think talking to Hitler will work. In the end, Hitler invades Poland, Churchill is given back his position as head of the Admiralty and in the end, he's made Prime Minister. They didn't mention that at the end of the war, they threw him out again, and tried to make deals with the Soviets. Churchill was smart enough to know that it was ever thus, and ever shall be, and so are you, and I.
