I agree, Intel trying to muscle in on PC Business would be corporate suicide. Life is tough enough now and in the years to come manufacturing and staying ahead of the CPU technology curve. Now do you seriouslyy think Intel would ever want to take on the mammoth task of

1)building the entire PC
2)negotiating component prices
3)developing a sales force to stab Dell, Compaq, IBM, Micron
4)develop support network

Come on, Intel, a great company, faces its toughest challenge just staying competitive in the CPU race, a job which they need to concentrate on because as we all know the Pentium to Pentium MMX transition was one massive flail (read: &*@# up !!!!). Intel wants to build PC's? Not unless the entire management team lost all sense of judgement. The only way Intel would invest the MASSIVE and I MEAN ULTRA< ULTRA Massive capital into a foolish venture like that would be if AMD inside became a marketable slogan, until then, lets talk about reality, ...... DEll in servers for example.
