I don't have any doubts about the long term prospects of PLDs. I
do have some problems with short term performance and latest
upgrades. Based on latest bookings reported by Altera and Xylinx
I don't see business picking up this year. I would not pay too
much attention to these analysts that until not long ago claimed
that non-commodity semi players will not be affected by the slowdown.
Ever since Altera stock crashed.
I know, I could be wrong, and I would not short Altera at such a
low price.
