:-) I believe that there is a lot of truth in what you say.

I believe that the quickest way to peace is to have mutually beneficial trade agreements. In other words, let our economies become so intertwined that it becomes economically devastating to have a war.

Unfortunately, I suspect that this way of thinking is decidedly western and completely ignores the idea that some people would let religious beliefs completely override economic realities.

And back to what you were saying as part of the solution. I actually think that is what is causing much of the anger towards the U.S. The french have been angry at the U.S. for the culture creep for years. And yet, you still see McDonalds and Burger King restaurants opening and filling with customers. And the Arab countries object to our cultural influences and permissiveness of our culture, and yet when they come to the U.S., they adopt the lifestyle completely.

I believe that what you are suggesting, in the bigger picture, is really what the rest of the world hates about the U.S. They want the laptops, the DVDs the Cellphones, but they don't want what comes with it. And that is the American Culture.
