He has served on the board of the University of Mississippi’s Institute for Racial Reconciliation. He hired the Mississippi Republican Party’s first black political worker. He kept his children in public schools as they were integrating. And many black individuals who know him well—judges, clergymen, civil rights workers, and others—support his confirmation.

The above does make it strange that this same man said he was leaving the Dem. party because of their support of civil rights legislation and it doesn't explain why he voted twice to fund a racist organization.

Like I said, the guy is conflicted, confused or whatever.......his behavior in this arena is very contrarian. So again, I ask of you is this the best that the GOP has to nominate......someone with a questionable history?

Please just answer the question instead of going off why you don't think he's racist because the truth is you don't know and neither do I for sure either way.

TIA.
