Re: Looks like the countries around Afghanistan support Bush's policy in Iraq, according to a brief map I
saw on tv.

Unless this was on C-SPAN it most likely is dishonest propaganda. And even C-SPAN isn't to be trusted completely.

Television is the worst source of honest information among the media options, except for hate radio, of course.

Countries that surround Afghanistan:

Iran -- Absolutely does not support U.S. intervention in Iraq.

Turkmenistan -- Stalinist leader may support King George's mad scheme, but public opinion polls, if allowed, would probably say something more like the results in Turkey, where 90% of the populace opposes the oil grab.

Uzbekistan, Kazakstan, Tajikistan -- Dictatorships with governments that do nor represent popular opinion.

Pakistan -- The Pakistani foreign minister was on C-SPAN's Washington Journal this morning. He was completely disingenuous as to Pakistan's position vis a vis the Iraq scam. On the one hand, he said that Pakistan is a U.S. ally, and OTOH, he said that Pakistan is quite upset that their nationals are being implicated in the new INS/FBI roundups of foreign nationals here in the U.S. They aren't standing up and saying we should go into Iraq. They're saying merely that they are an ally.
