I think this is the heart of the matter and why there is such a mess.
When President Bush went to the UN and got everybody to agree to 1441 which was negotiated I thought: "good, game over, no war."

There is a huge problem in bombing a sovreign country and women and children that seem like Hiroshima because Hans BLix (Clarence the Angel) gave you a BAD REPORT.

Wars do not start because somebody gets a failing grade.
Resolution 1441 has committed us to engagement and diplomacy, especially in light of Korea. Korea's bad report didn't result in bombs away.

The collars and the cuffs of foreign policy must match in order to pass the smell test. I just hope some terrible thing is not contrived to justify our invasion.
