I disagree. If an auction is crafted corretly Sniping is not an issue. For instance placing "Buy it Now" on an auction, anyone has a fair shot. The way I see it "Buy It Now" is a preventive snipe-snipe. And because bidders know that sniping exists they are often willing to pay a PREMIUM for an auction item ala "Buy It Now" in order to avoid a biding war or Snipe.

Sniping has increased but So have "Buy It Now" auctions.......
