"Gettysburg" is on TV right now. I think I'll check it out. Not a bad film, it followed Shaara's book Killer Angels very closely. Jeff Daniels was wonderful as Chamberlain. The one to watch will be next month's release of Gods and Generals, the prequel written by Shaara's son following his father's death. It has twice the budget of Gettysburg and the advantage of CGI to fill in the battle scenes. Not to mention, Duvall will play General Lee this time instead of the miscast Martin Sheen.
