LG Electronics launches dual-band, dual-mode 3G handset AFX - Asia January 27, 2003 SEOUL LG Electronics Inc said that it has launched a new handset that works on both CDMA2000 1x and W-CDMA systems. "The dual-band and dual-mode 3G handset was finally released, paving the way for the IMT-2000 (3G) service," LG Electronics said, adding that the new product was supplied to KT ICOM for test trials. KTF, to be merged with KT ICOM in March, will launch a pilot service in April and commercial services in June. LG said that it will target the 3G handset global market by developing advanced products.
