I plan to post a series of slightly rewritten excerpts from a comprehensive Special RTW Report on Qualcomm entitled, “Breakthrough Ideas Create Strategic Architectural Control.”
www.rtwreport.com

As time permits over the next few weeks, I will post my descriptions and analysis of Qualcomm’s technologies and platforms, strategies in the 2G and 3G standards wars, business model, strategic architectural control, and the like. My purpose is educational, and the posts are substantive. I do own Qualcomm stock. However, I am neither a technologist nor a financial analyst. So, I am still trying to learn about this investing game, claiming no expertise other than that of a scholarly student.

This is my way to thank you for all that you have taught me as I have read the SI Qualcomm Moderated and earlier boards since 1997. In particular, I want to thank Ramsey Su for moderating the thread, translating articles from Chinese, and his earlier encouragement that I write something about Qualcomm. Also, I learned a great deal from posts by Greg Powers, engineer, Ben Garrett, and B. Rational. In particular, I want to commend engineer for steadfastly providing his technology and strategic insights that I have read closely.

I hope these mini-essays on Qualcomm help.
