I agree with the general thrust of your complaint about the UN. Where I think we need to be a bit more circumspect is to realize that the most likely alternative to the UN method, i.e. raging unilateralism, may be far worse than what we presently limp along with.

I try to not disparage any means to stop the madness of King George, including a crippled United Nations. I see it as vastly more desirable than the hope of the right wing aggressors in the U.S. who would have us disband the UN tomorrow.
