Free resources are becoming less and less important...

Not only are free resources becoming less and less important, at some point in the future they will essentially be free. Virtually all resources over the past 200 years have declined in relative value and their use has declined per unit output. Lift a colour TV from the '70s, then lift the same TV from the '00s - probably 1/3 of the resources are used today for the same product.

Whatever you do, don't tell the politicians about Gibbs Free Energy!
