Hi RtS,

Having watched VIX since 98,I have often jumped on the first quick rise of VIX - only to note that the volatility as measured by VIX seems to build up steam.

It pops first - then drops - then goes even higher.

I think this is a necessary ingredient for the markets to shake out marginal holders.

It does this to achieve its desired effect.

Looks like tech is getting fragmented - some sectors recovering better than others.

Some sectors have burned off their excess inventory - even to the point of selling that which has been written off.

We've got time for this to become quite ugly yet.I'm thinking that Iraq will provide a very good positive that will result in cheap oil and a better feeling towards terroroism.

After all - Saddam is one of the top poster boys for terrorism.

Sooner or later Bin Laden will get betrayed and we'll have us a huge rally then as well.

I'm looking for a choppy VIX top and the definite start of war in Iraq - then I'm pulling my trigger on my dry powder.gg

Patience Patience Patience - the bargains are still being planned.

Bob
