I think you are making a categorical mistake to equate personality with physicality. Some aspects of personality are reason, emotion, volition and self awareness. It does not seem unreasonable to me to think that this universe is in some way a reflection of it's source. Since this universe contains personality, why would you exclude the possibility/probability that the source of all this does as well?
