You know the uranium that the military uses comes from nuclear waste sites such as Hanford, don't you?
I am not sure why you have a problem with the issue other than I heard that initial tests were not
accurate.

I heard part of a radio discussion recently. My husband was on his way home and told me about it.
The scientist on the show said that initially the tests used to test for toxicity were the wrong tests.
At one time she worked in the US. She said someone wasted $200,000 to $300,000 to test human
hair and, if I heard her correctly, toxicity from depleted uranium would not show up in human hair.

She now works in England and she treats Gulf veterans among others. I never got her name. And I never
had the time to phone the station to see if I could get a transcript.

Someone who works with my husband told him about the Seattle PI-article. The depleted uranium
issue might pop up as a secondary issue since he works on a project that looks into ocean currents,
among other things, off our coast. It is a long-term project though, and if they find information
about the depleted uranium, they'll hear it from another group.

I expect that there will be additional research about depleted uranium. It is important to
remember that that during Vietnam the government told everyone that "Agent Orange" was safe
so I wouldn't dismiss the effects of depleted uranium lightly.
