Delaney Named President and CEO of Titan'sNew Advanced Systems Development Sector

WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Titan Corporation (NYSE: TTN, news) announced today the appointment of Dr. Lawrence J. Delaney to the position of Senior Vice President of The Titan Corporation, and President and CEO of the company's Advanced Systems Development Sector. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., Dr. Delaney will lead the company's effort in development of advanced systems, including such programs as Titan's Affordable Weapon and the Littoral Surface Craft (LCS-X).

Dr. Delaney has more than 40 years of experience in high technology program acquisition, management, and international business, focusing on space and missile systems, information systems, propulsions systems and environmental technology. Prior to joining Titan, Dr. Delaney served as Chairman of the Board, CEO, and President of Arete Associates. Previously, Dr. Delaney held several distinguished appointments as Acting Undersecretary of the Air Force, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Chief Information Officer for the Air Force, and Acting Secretary of the Air Force.

Dr. Delaney served as a member of the National Academy of Science Board on Army Science and Technology from 1992 to 1999, serving as vice chairman from 1992 to 1994. In 1989, the Department of the Army awarded him the Outstanding Civilian Service Medal for his work on the Army Science Board. He currently serves as a consultant to the Army Science Board and as a member of the Air Force Science and Technology Board of the National Academy of Sciences.
