I'm not sure why the Canadian Paul Phillip chooses to defend Bush in the way that he does -- most Canadians that I know are NOT pleased with the way our President is conducting foreign policy.

Because I have seen the results of the mealy-mouthed, no vision, no balls, buy-a-dictator, pretending the thing isn't a mess, don't annoy anyone, backstab everyone type of policy practiced in the Middle East since WWII. It leaves deadly conflicts unresolved. It leaves poor people getting poorer under the thumb of brutal dictators. It leaves people with no hope that can send their teenage children off to die pointlessly.

Now is truth telling time and Bush is telling the truth and I love him for it.

- Saddam is a bad guy, still at war with us - let's clean up that mess
- Saudi Arabia teaches people to hate us and kill us, let's caught off thier air-supply of oil money
- The UN is an ineffective dictarocracy, let's kick it in the ass and see if it wakes up.
- No hope without a Palestinian state, let the Palestinian's have a state.

The Middle East is a mess, full of people who hate us, who are willing to kill us and have the means and immigination to succeed.

Not one thing you have posted here against the war leads me to believe that the people you listen to have the least understanding of the situation. If we were to listen to them, the US as we know it won't survive the decade.

So, I support the guy willing to confront the situation head on. Do I wish he would tone it down a bit, sure I do. However, at some point, you just gotta let him be himself and do is job.

If he fails, the social and economic structure of the west will decline rapidly under the threat of more attacks. The US doesn't handle paranoia as well as the Israelies. It will tear them apart and their civil rights with it. This is their goal for the west and it has already begun.

I support Bush because the alternative makes me want to crawl in to a cave and hide.

The Canadians whining about Bush elected a King who is leaving on his terms and naming his succesor. Canadians should shut the F--- up and clean up their own political process before getting to upity about other people's problems.

Paul
