CBS is reporting that the reluctant Turks have finally agreed to allow 20000 troops to use bases in Turkey.
cbsnews.com

Meanwhile, back in the heartland:

Midland, MI - >>The Midland Armory was the scene of hugs, tears and good-byes Sunday as members of the 1460th National Guard Transportation Company prepared to leave. About 140 troops from Midland and the 1461st National Guard Transportation Company based in Jackson will continue processing at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin.
The troops then will go to Turkey. It is not known to what part of Turkey the 1460th will be sent, or what their mission will be. They could be gone for up to one year.<<

>>If there's war in Iraq, the 14-60th's 50 big trucks will be needed. They can move other vehicles, personnel and ammunition to battle zones.<<

Looks to me like it was already a done deal a while ago. Those stories are dateline Sunday, and it takes a while to call up the National Guard.
