Anyway, the song is "Quit kickin' my dawg around" by the New Christy Minstrels. The lead used to be sung by the bass player, Clarence Treet; this sounds like him. Don't know which album, but am guessing the first, since, I think, their second was the soundtrack from a flick; This Old Riverboat, etc.
I just saw a reunion of the NCM, including Barry McGuire, on a PBS folk revival fund raiser.Hosted by the brothers Smothers. Pretty good show, if it comes on in your area.
