Re delusional diana

"...i think you are delusional..do you know how many army officers saddam has killed? ..."

My people are known for berserk attacks upon occasion which are considered signs of mental imbalance by some, but we are not known for having delusions.
Also, the Voices tell me over & over that I'm right!

I could be wrong about anything--- happens all the time.
But my stmt (cc below) seems reasonable to me & I don't see why you would think that Saddam's having killed a large number of Iraqi Army Officers refutes it.
--- In fact it seems to me that Saddam's purges reinforce my point. Surely the surviving officers have learned to keep any anti-Saddam thoughts quiet & shout the party line, eh? But that doesn't mean they've lost track of their own best interests. Quite the contrary.

--- But it's hard to respond to you because your thinking is not clear to me at all from your post.
-Do you mean to say that Saddam's killing of Iraqi Army Officers will have made the surviving officers loyal to Saddam out of fear?
-Or that only the loyal will have survived?
--- Neither of these sounds like a reasonable hypothesis to me.
I think such purges inspire hate, cunning & reticence, not self-destructive loyalty. & I doubt very much if Saddam has inspired real loyalty in the bulk of the army, or managed to find people to put in positions of authority whose loyalty to him will continue when it no longer serves their self interest. Nor, imo, will it prove that he's managed to convince many in Iraqi that Iraq's best interests will be served by destroying its resources.

But perhaps I've missed your intended point.
I like to hear / consider / debate alternate opinions & ideas,
but you'll have to work harder at clarity in expressing your thoughts & opinions.

Looking forward to more articulate disagreement from you,
regards,
diana

diana's original stmt:
<<...Ask yourself "If I were a mid-level Iraqi Army Officer or gvmt official, would I want to position myself as a die-hard Saddam backer in a post GW2 Iraq?" Imo you'd have to have a poor grasp of reality to make that choice. Sure, there will be some who want to self-destruct with Saddam, but they will be countered & largely neutralized by the much larger number who want to live & prosper with their families in post-Saddam Iraq....>>
