State Street Research & Management Invests in CheckFree RECON Securities For Reconciliation Processes

Tuesday January 28, 5:12 pm ET

ATLANTA, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CheckFree Corporation (Nasdaq: CKFR - News) today announced that State Street Research & Management Company, one of the nation's oldest investment managers, takes a lead in achieving straight through processing (STP) procedures, by utilizing CheckFree RECON Securities(TM) to streamline its cash and securities transaction reconciliation processes.

Prior to going live with CheckFree's automated solution, State Street parallel tested RECON Securities over an eight-week period against it own manual process. At State Street, RECON Securities interfaces to Thomson Financial's investment-accounting solution, Portia. Portia receives files then matches the files to State Street's custodians, via a DTC hub into RECON Securities.

To accomplish an even higher level of efficiency, State Street implemented RECON Securities to accommodate the many changing and future message standards and increased speed requirements of straight through processing, such as exception management and resolution. RECON Securities gives State Street a competitive advantage by managing transactions as they progress through the STP pipeline and by seamlessly interfacing with the firms' existing systems. . .
