No moral considerations of any sort, of course, or of risks of demonstrating to the world a Reign of Terror, sponsored by what was once called the "last best hope of the world".

Don't get fraught. It's Ullman's job to think clinically about these death and destruction. Not his writ to ponder morality, etc., just like a surgeon cannot get upset at the sight of blood. And this is as it should be.

Look for good, evil, morality, elsewhere. Don't expect a guy trained in the design of warfare to give much consideration to these weighty matters.
