The other countries of the world would even settle for publicly getting Cheney in front of some reporters, to answer some "unanswered questions". He, like Junior, has an unavoidable habit, when he's lying, of looking down and being shifty.

Members of the UN Security Council requested the presentation yesterday be public, against the wishes of the US, for the very reason that these things will only be honest and accountable when done in public.

Cheney will never do it voluntarily. Neither will Bush Senior, as he himself declared on CSPAN in a stump speech Nov 1st of last year, that he'll not give any more unscripted interviews or news conferences in the future.

The only way we will get that will be through Congressional hearings, based on whistleblowers.

The reason is the "matrix" theory of disclosure control, which is that small bits of truth can be connected to other bits in unexpected ways, causing gaps to be filled in, if there is anything to hide.

Rumsfeld is the world-class liar of the bunch. However, even he has to dismiss awkward questions, and when he runs out of the "national security, sources and methods" screen, he's got to run for cover, catch a plane, or go into closed session.
