you idiot, people who put in their "max" bid quickly find that the shill bidders (the seller) just run up the auction until they reach a point where the REAL buyer has maxed out.

then they retract the last shill bid, or if they cant retract it they simply contact the #2 bidder and tell them that the #1 (shill) didn't want to buy the item.

this happens on about 90% of ebay auctions now.

it has become a total scam.

if you enter a max proxy bid, it WILL be hit, 100% of the time. not 50 or 80 or 90 percent of the time, but 100%.

the system is fatally flawed.
