Jim, Heck, I own those folks. Diamonds have been a cartel forever. They don't have nearly as much power in gold and oil, though they do own the world's single best gold mine. Russia tried to break them on diamonds, as did China, but DeBeer's is tough.

The Republicans have always been partial to foreign mining firms and unfriendly to domestic ones. Democrats have hated both.
