Each is an "ornamentation" of the normal shape or size of the feature, not so great as to register as a deformity, but large enough to add interest. As I said, the style should harmonize, as well. Generally, the rosebud mouth goes best with a "moon face", while thinner, more sardonic lips go with the elongated, high cheekboned face.
Going beyond Kant, it is absolutely true that certain styles and features suggest character/prsonality, and that some people seem more appealing than others. Some of it may be an illusion, insofar as the look is innate, and need not reflect the inner person. Some of it is a matter of expression or adopted style, and therefore may very well show forth the inner person. Either way, we tend to prefer people who look kind, thoughtful, and sincere...... |
