CALGARY, Jan. 29 /CNW/ - Global Thermoelectric Inc. ("Global" or the
"Company"), a leading developer of solid oxide fuel cell ("SOFC") products,
announced today that Mr. Stephen J.J. Letwin, Enbridge Inc.'s ("Enbridge")
Group Vice President, Distribution and Services, has been appointed to
Global's Board of Directors. In July 2000, Enbridge and Global established a
strategic alliance to commercialize natural gas compatible fuel cell products.
"Steve brings extensive business acumen and energy industry insight to
help guide the Company's efforts to execute its business plan and create
shareholder value," stated Peter Garrett, Global's President and CEO.
"I am very pleased to join Global's Board at this point in the Company's
evolution," stated Mr. Letwin. "Commercialization of Global's fuel cell
technology continues to gain momentum and I look forward to playing a
strategic role in this process."
Mr. Letwin's appointment is effective immediately and he will stand for
election at the Company's next Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
