TUCSON, Ariz., Jan 29 (Reuters) - Defense contractor Raytheon Co. (RTN) said on Wednesday it won a $224.5 million award to build 167 Tomahawk missiles for the U.S. Navy.

The award is an addition to a previous contract, Raytheon said in a statement. Most of the work, which is scheduled to be finished by August 2005, will be performed in Tucson, Arizona.

Raytheon shares rose 44 cents to $30.30 in early afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
