Shoe - I don't know whether the broker will reduce the margin collateral requirements for a boxed position. I haven't boxed often enough to ever need to know. There's just too much transaction cost.

You would have to call the margin dept. of your broker and ask. Questions like these are often beyond the realm of the first poor fellow who answers the phone, so I would suggest asking for his supervisor in the margin dept.
