The problem, with diamonds is if you buy them, you find
you can't sell them. Even worse if you steal some it's
almost a sure bet the fence will turn you in. :-(

Diamonds drop 50%+ in value the minute you buy it,
( as to resale value )
The only way around that is to insure it and then toss
it in the ocean.
