MQ,
US was isolationist back then, no doubt but it was the responsibility of france and england back then to nip hitler in the bud. No one in the US disparages the bravery of aussies or new zealanders or any other foes of Hitler and Tojo. I do not why you think so if you do.
The danger now for the world is not US preemption or go it alone if necessary rhetoric--it is a return to isolationism in the US.
I know this country well, i think. And the same folks who are interventist now, one day might throw up their hands in disgust and say Fortress America.
The rest of the world is far more vulnerable than we are to attack. And internally an anti-arab or anti-jewish mentality can arise(pick your poison) blaming one or both of these groups for americas woes. Bye bye global economy along with the global village. And the left then will stand alone as internationalists and rue the day they let their hatred of George Bush blind them to the dangers. <gg-very dramatic dont you think> mike
