<< The problem with that is that Arafat was elected. >>

Not in a fair or democratic election. Do you ever read the news, or do historical research?

<< By the way, I think Sharon is to thank for the popularity that Arafat enjoys. >>

Arafat turned down a great peace offer, and decided to attack and drive all Jews out of Israel. What would you have had Sharon and Israel do, just let their people get blown up by terrorists?

Sharon was a great and gifted war hero. Thank God that Israel has a strong leader right now. The terrorists will not give up, so Sharon and Israel has to be constantly in a war mode to survive.

Do you ever read, or understand the news, or do historical research?

<< Not only does a nation unite behind its leader when faced with an oppressive force ... >>

That is exactly why Sharon was soundly reelected. Israel, as you say, is faced with an oppressive force.

Do you ever read, or understand the news, or do historical research?

<< I don't remember hearing Arafat encouraging suicide bombings in Arabic. >>

Holy chit!!! That has been covered by many news sources for years. Arafat's schools teach their young to become suicide bombers and to hate Jews and Christians.

I got my answer. You obviously don't ever read, or understand the news, or do historical research. Case closed! <g>
