I don't see anything special about the analysis.. It was pretty accurate.. And the author actually stated that he believed the change in the US nuclear posture review was actually smart since it provided more flexible response and made it a bit more uncertain for America's enemies as to just where the line would be drawn between conventional and nuclear response.

Also, Item #6 in his reasons for why the US used nuclear weapons in 1945 is the most compelling.. Any enemy of the US should recognize that, rather than suffering tremendous casualities amongst our soldiers, we'll maintain the option to use nuclear weapons instead...
