<< In my heart of hearts, my greatest fear is retaliation. >>

Each time that America got attacked in the past, such as when the terrorists bombed the Cole, or when they bombed our embassies in Africa, and we did little, the terrorists became more brazened. Our lack of fighting back, led to the Sept 11th attacks, IMHO.

So, the question is: Will the terrorist continue to try and attack America regardless of whether we fight back or not? Or, if we do strike back, will it cause the terrorists to think twice before attacking us again?

It worked with khadafy of Libya. We blew his tent up and killed his son, and we, then, didn't hear a peep out of him for years.

<< However, I despair in the thought as to what America will be like in the coming years, shopping mall bombings, kidnappings, dousings with bio/chem, fear and more fear. >>

Unfortunately, I think that America will see some of those types of attacks in the future. Our enemies are many, and they are ruthless. Being nice to terrorists and the criminally insane has never worked in the past, and I doubt if it will work today.

<< Will anybody care when I say "I told you so." >>

If we do not stop murderous thugs from developing weapons of mass destruction, all the "I told you so's" in the world, won't stop them from using them on us.
