As my name implies... everything is cyclical including people's love/hate for equities. I think the general trend is down over the next 10 years. Quite a few people will permanently exit equities, but given 401K vehicles and the fact that stock trading now has far easier access with computers and the internet, I don't think the "love affair" will go away permanently. Or at least compared to past bear markets we may end up with more traders than we would have had if this bear had occurred 20, 40 or 60 years ago.
