Remember "taxation without representation" was one of the reasons the US split from the British Empire...

Well then, I suggest they "split" from the US...

It's ludicrous for us to permit any person who is not a citizen to possess the right to become involved in US political policy.. The repercussions of permitting migrating populations of non-citizens moving from one region of the US to another (following welfare benefits), could be enormous...

They could live here for less that 8 years, vote in 7 different elections, and then move back to their own country...

Call me a mean and nasty conservative if you want... But I don't like the potential manipulation.. However, I can understand if non-US workers would like to be compensated for those taxes they pay into FICA (Social Security) and have that money transferred back to their country of origin.

But regular taxes are the means by which the government provides them the enviroment to be able to come here and find temporary economic opportunity..

Personally, I think we need to be more strict about who is able to obtain US citizenship. I don't believe that non-citizens here on a work visa, who have a child on US soil, should be able to claim US citizenship for that child. When they become citizens (through naturalization), citizenship would be conferred on those children born here.
