<< If what you're saying is true, he would have used his weapons of mass destruction during the first Gulf War. He didn't. >> That was 12 years ago, right? There is evidence that Saddam tried his chemical weapons on our troops. Our electronic monitors went off many times, and many troops ignored them. After that many troops came back with strange health problems. You can't possibly believe that Saddam is going to use his weapons of mass destruction for good purposes? << On a scale of competing harms would such a war be worth it, especially given results can come from continued inspections? >> Unless, of course, while the inspections continue, the development of Saddam's weapons systems continues. Who knows, perhaps while the inspectors are on the ground, Saddam will announce that his weapons programs have completed, and he is ready to use them if he doesn't get what he wants.
<< Why not work toward conditions in the world that would make the terrorists moot? Why not make it more difficult for old terrorists to recruit young terrorists? >> Let's work towards those goals, but they are almost impossible goals, and are easier said than done. I intend to answer the rest of your interesting points some other time. No time now. Regards. |
