My posting of that was rather toungue in cheek. IMO short selling never holds stocks down, at least not for very long. They used to say the same thing about a lot of the tech trash when it was crashing, but the reality was that the stocks just sucked. Most of the golds are far from tech trash but it still makes me nervous when I see the "shorts are gonna get squeezed" pump. Thats the same bs they pull on yahoo.

Whenever someone blames short selling for a stock not going up I think it's a caution signal. However, it's possible that people have been buying physical and shorting miners as a hedge on this latest runup. If that is true then there may be a short covering spike in the miners when that trade is unwound. I'm bearish on physical gold at the moment.

Drooy is unhedged as far as I know.
