Thanks for the posts.

Don Lloyd, whom I posted to, understands accounting and has strong opinions about accounting for options. I am always interested in his comments.

Actually, the only thing I know about accounting is that it is often in total conflict with both logic and economics.

I am still waiting for someone else to understand that the real problem is not that option grants are not expensed, but that stock grants are expensed in error.

Here is my latest related article attempting to demonstrate just how willing accounting is to follow some ill-considered standard rule no matter what absurd results it leads to. -
