Thanks to some of your input I sold the rest of my puts this morning. It's remarkable how little one can make on a leveraged investment like that, considering the spread, poor execution, commissions, and other dirty details. I came out with a whopping 10% profit.:-( The only good news is that it was money made when the market was falling, so now I have a little more cash to do something with when the next clear indication of market direction appears, or if the market rises sufficiently to bring me back in on the short side.
