Steven - that was an interesting post.

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the market. The similarity to the early 80's is definitely there - however we do not have the crushing interest rates of 14+% which sucked so much money out of stocks. But that is relative. Now, we actually have higher real interest rates - after inflation is taken out - than we did then. It was when rates started to come down and people wanted to lock in high yields that the last big stock sell off occurred. And yes - do you remember how devasted the NASDAQ was back then? It was a graveyard -

I agree with you that growth stock funds have had their run. That is why I like VWEGX - the manager, Garrett VonWaggonner (sp?) is very capable and is also very flexible - which will be crucial in the changing environment in which we find ourselves. I wonder what all these new investors are going to do when the bottom falls out, as it always does at some point? That is the real question as to 'how low can it go'? Thanks for keeping in touch.
