grampa, I believe in having faith in things, but faith, without some sort of foundation, is folly. Unlike Mars, I believe in God, and Jesus Christ, but in a far different way than the puritanical brian valentine (AKA elect).
IMO,There are some foundations for the belief in the existence of a Supreme force, or power. Something had to put the elements in motion to cause the universe to come to be, and whether Jesus was an appendage of God, or not, He started a movement of love and peace. It is just too bad that the mortal, flawed, human beings like those that wrote the bible from thousands of years of oral legends, cannot emulate the precepts of Jesus. As long as there are men on Earth, there will be no peace. Peace is not an element of human nature. Humans are as bestial and any other animal on Earth. Sad, but true, IMO. |
