So what? Cheney's voting record is similar to Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond. Delay's voting record is the most far-right there is. But Kerry has broken with Kennedy in the past year or so and plans to stay that way. That said, Kennedy's policies are not unappealing to Americans. It's Kennedy himself who is unappealing because of Chappaquiddick, his drinking and womanizing. Kerry has no such character flaws. But you'll find Kerry tougher on military, guns rights and more conservative on health care than Kennedy. Those are three huge issues. He's also for a large one-time tax cut now which pays for itself and doesn't add to the deficit.
