I really loved this poem--I wonder if it came out of your week-only because it made me remember vividly the feelings that I had when my mother was dying and I was in my childhood home, tracing myself backwards through the years in pictures, and objects, sounds and smells....but I don't think I came to the same conclusion as you. I feel very much the little girl of then and the woman of yesterday. You know, I wrote a lot of songs and poetry sitting by her side. It was a really introspective and creative time. I hope you'll find some of that---my guess is you already have.
