Toys R Us says cutting 700 management jobs

PARAMUS, N.J., Jan 30 (Reuters) - Toys R Us Inc. (NYSE:TOY - News), the nation's biggest toy retail chain, on Thursday said it was cutting 700 management and supervisory jobs, effective immediately.
A spokeswoman said the cuts did not include store managers, but would involve some "second tier" supervisors. Money saved from the job cuts would be used to increase training and allow sales people to spend more time in the stores.
