Kerry has distanced himself from Kennedy recently voting with Bush on Iraq, and not supporting nationalized health care. The comparison doesn't hold much water anymore. The GOP leadership now is quite far to the right. Look at cheney and Tom Delay. Dont get much more right-wing. Bush himself is far to the right though he talks as if he's more in the middle. Talks the talk but never walks the walk.
